Billy Mills gives the thumbs up to Courtship of Lapwings by Maggie O’Sullivan and Under the Cliff Like by Tim Allen.

On O’Sullivan – It’s tempting to consider these typographical elements as some kind of score for sounding the poems out, but if you listen to O’Sullivan reading the work, this is not the case; the visual and audio aspects of the work exist in parallel, separate but complementary.

On Allen – [a] surrealist game that becomes, on one level, an interrogation of the simile as a device.
