Stephen Emmerson introduces Cover-ups

Stephen Emmerson has worked with if p then q to create Cover-ups, a partner piece to his if p then q object Poetry Wholes. You can find out more and purchase HERE

What are they? Each Cover-ups wallet contains 8 templates which you can use to make instantaneous poetry in a range of styles by covering-up texts. The initial run is limited to 10 copies.

Here’s some suggested ways to use them:

Place one of the Cover-ups over a page of text and read the words and fragments of words that remain visible.

Reading the same page of text with each Cover-up yields interesting results but you can use them with any number of texts to create experimental poems, sound poems, audio performances and vocal improvisations.

Have fun. Be serious. Cover-up.
